Sassari, controllers with body cams on the buses to nail vandals and attackers

In Sassari, on the ATP buses, controllers with body cams arrive, wearable cameras to nail vandals and attackers with audio and video recordings.

Following several cases of aggression against staff on public transport, the local public transport company has decided to run for cover and, to protect the safety of operators and passengers, to equip the controllers with these devices that will be worn and operated in case of need, to produce materials useful for law enforcement agencies to identify and report those responsible for any crimes.

The news was communicated by the leaders of the ATP during the meeting of the provincial committee for public order and safety, chaired by the prefect Paola Dessì.

The company has already completed staff training activities for the use of the new tools, also in relation to privacy regulations.
