The alarm was raised at 1:30 PM between Via Amendola and Viale Italia in Sassari . Smoke began to come from a Peugeot stopped at the traffic light, alarming the driver and calling the fire department.

The operators intervened as a fire was starting and was quickly put out.

The local police were also on site.
