Domestic violence is at the forefront of the lawsuit for injuries filed by a 61-year-old man from Sassari against his parent and his closest relative who, according to the indictment, hit him with kicks, punches and a stick in 2020 at his mother's home. In the hearing yesterday in court in Sassari, prosecutor Ilaria Achenza reconstructed the specific episode but also a climate of common resentment accentuated by the forced cohabitation between the former spouses after their separation.

Until the episode in which the 93-year-old parent calls for help from his other son, 59, because he would not be allowed into the house where he was a "guest". From that moment on, a fight breaks out in which the 93-year-old is also the protagonist, who, together with the 59-year-old, allegedly attacked the eldest son, causing bruises and contusions to his ribs, also caused by using the stick that the ex-spouse used to walk.

The prosecutor requested 7 months of imprisonment for the minor son and 6 for the parent, requests that were agreed with by the civil party lawyer Bruno Conti who recalled the aggressive nature of the 93-year-old and the accused son and the fact that, at home, the elderly man did not pay the rent, all paid by the woman. Mother and ex-wife, who has since died, who the lawyer emphasizes had always been lucid and followed by a support administrator to whom she had reported the complex situation. Lidia Marongiu, defense lawyer, cast doubts on the reliability of the injured party and retraced a series of alleged behaviors carried out against the father, from being left out of the house to threats to have him eat at Caritas. Judge Silvia Masala ordered the replies and sentence for November.
