Sassari, 53-year-old man on trial for sexual assault on 10-year-old girl

He was sent for trial yesterday in Sassari court on charges of sexual assault of a minor. The 53-year-old, currently in prison in Bancali, is accused of sexually assaulting a 10-year-old girl in a nearby town in 2023, touching her private parts and persisting despite her attempts to distance herself.
The incidents allegedly occurred at a club where the little girl's mother worked as a waitress . After filing a complaint, the Carabinieri found evidence to support the allegations, and yesterday, preliminary hearing judge Giuseppe Grotteria, as requested by prosecutor Ermanno Cattaneo, ordered the man's trial. He is being defended by lawyer Maria Lia Basoli, and his first hearing will be on February 26.
