Sassari, 12-year-old girl raped by her stepfather: the man sentenced to six years.

Sentenced to 6 years for sexually assaulting a 12-year-old girl.

The sentence was pronounced today in the court of Sassari , in an abbreviated session, by the preliminary hearing judge Sergio De Luca against a 40-year-old from the Sassari area.

The man, who was the partner of the girl's mother but not her biological father, was accused of touching the minor's private parts and performing other sexual acts.

The minor had confided in a friend but only found the courage to report it seven years later, in 2024.

Meanwhile, the defendant had placed cameras in the girl's room and, over the years, had recorded her intimate moments. He used the images to create photomontages depicting the young woman and himself in sexually explicit contexts.

After the injured party filed a complaint, investigators seized the man's computer devices, finding evidence supporting the accusations.

In addition to sexual assault, he was also charged with unlawful interference in private life.

The verdict was announced today following discussions by prosecutor Ermanno Cattaneo, who requested a six-year sentence, and by the civil party, represented by lawyer Gabriela Pinna Nossai, and defense attorney Antonio Secci.
