Sardinia has the most beautiful sea in Italy.
This is certified by Legambiente and the Italian Touring Club , which have awarded the Five Blue Sails to 21 locations in the Belpaese, seven of which are located on the island, the most awarded region.
Sardinian is also the place at the top of the general classification, together with Maremma: it is Baunei .
The other five-sail coasts of Sardinia are those of Domus de Maria, Bosa and Cabras (with the Marine Protected Area of the Sinis Peninsula and the Island of Mal di Ventre), Posada, Budoni and Santa Teresa di Gallura in the stretch of northeastern coast.
12 other island locations instead obtained 4 Sails.
After Sardinia follow - in the ranking included in the guide "The most beautiful sea 2023" - Tuscany with 4 locations; Puglia and Campania both with 3 and Sicily with 2. The classification is closed by Basilicata and Calabria, this year's new entry, which reaches the top with Tropea.
The Cinque Vele – it is explained – «reward those who have been able to best combine territories and places of excellence with sustainable development strategies».
