Overnight, the Carabinieri of Sanluri reported a 39-year-old worker, originally from and resident in San Gavino Monreale, who was already known to law enforcement. He was found guilty of driving under the influence and failing to comply with a stop order issued by officers on the road.
The operation began in Via Carlo Felice , where the military, engaged in a traffic control service, noticed a Volkswagen Golf performing a particularly dangerous maneuver.
Despite the immediate report from the Carabinieri, who ordered the man to stop, the driver chose to ignore the order, accelerating sharply and attempting to flee through the streets of the town.
However, the chase lasted only moments: the patrol managed to intercept and permanently stop the vehicle on nearby Via Rinascita. Once the man was secured, the Carabinieri administered a breathalyzer test, which returned a positive result . The officers immediately confiscated his license and impounded the vehicle.
