The 33rd Samassi artichoke festival officially opened this morning with the cutting of the ribbon by Mayor Beatrice Muscas.

The ceremony was attended - among others - by the deputy Gianni Lampis, the deputy mayor and municipal councilor for agriculture Giacomo Onnis, the president of the national Pro Loco Antonio La Spina, regional Raffaele Sestu and local Francesco Ibba.

Sixty stands were set up along the route as part of the 22nd agri-food fair, in addition to the three refreshment points of the Pro Loco and the 17 street food stations which between today and tomorrow will obviously offer artichoke-based specialties.

Doors open throughout the weekend also in the twenty Domus de Lolla which will show visitors the traditional peasant atmospheres.
