Work is nearing completion on the new Paulilatino interchange on State Road 131. The first significant change is already underway today, with the reopening of all four lanes of the Carlo Felice highway. The reopening of the interchange, including the on- and off-ramp access and all service roads for the new project, will be completed on August 8th.

The work involved eliminating the at-grade intersection at km 120, with the construction of new junction ramps, two roundabouts, and the resurfacing of the road connecting to state highway 131. Some work was also carried out on the overpass near the junction, involving new paving, the installation of new safety barriers, and vertical and horizontal signage.

At the previous at-grade intersection, the new Anas National Dynamic Barrier (NDBA) barrier was installed. It was conceived, designed, and approved entirely by Anas and features high-performance features, even in limited spaces. With a view to the future of smart roads, the barrier contains an internal cavity that will allow for the installation of sensors capable of communicating in real time with Anas operations centers and reporting damage, allowing for faster rescue operations.

The overall investment amounts to 10.4 million euros and is part of a broader plan by Anas to eliminate critical nodes on state highway 131 .
