The silence, among those enormous abandoned sandstone quarries, is surreal. A peace which, however, should soon be interrupted by music and applause . This is what the mayor of Riola Sardo, Lorenzo Pinna, promises .
At the Parco dei Suoni, a structure located on the provincial road 66 which leads from Riola to Su Cuccuru Mannu and continues to the beach of S'Anea Scoada, which has always been a stage for artists of the caliber of Ben Harper, Edoardo Bennato, Negramaro, Carmen Consoli and Max Gazzè, the works to make the structure safe have recently been completed . So now, after two years without music, between workers at work and the pandemic, all that remains is to wait for the management announcement .
The interventions began in February two years ago . «The lighting system has been completely renovated thanks to the installation of LED headlights - explains the mayor Lorenzo Pinna - but finally a wooden walkway has also been built for the disabled and a staircase has been installed for the emergency exit . They seemed like simple interventions, but as often happens, the times took longer. This summer there will be no shortage of artists at Parco dei Suoni."
In short, a courageous declaration, also considering that the summer season is now upon us and that many concerts have already been announced. But not only. In fact, the Municipality has yet to publish the tender for management .
Last December the mayor appointed the municipal secretary Alessandro Murana as sole manager of the Park concession procedure. «Work in progress - Pinna cuts short - We are working on it. The Park will soon have a manager. This is certain. It is not our intention to keep such a structure, the flagship of the area, closed."
