Punta Molentis reopens. Nearly two weeks after the devastating fire that severely damaged one of Southern Sardinia's most iconic beaches on July 27th, Villasimius Mayor Luca Dessì has signed an ordinance allowing land access to the beach, previously closed on August 4th for safety reasons.

The official announcement came this evening via the mayor's social media channels : "We are revitalizing a corner of paradise in Southern Sardinia," he wrote, announcing the reopening and thanking the staff responsible for managing access and vehicle positioning.

Particular attention was paid to the parking area, which was damaged by the flames. The burned cars were removed and moved to a location where they can be recovered and sent for demolition, Dessì explained, emphasizing the changes made to the area's logistics.

The mayor took the opportunity to send a clear message about the need for greater awareness among residents and tourists : "We hope that catastrophic events of this magnitude will never happen again, but let us remember that a lot depends on our behavior."

Dessì finally announced his intention to continue with the environmental and landscape reconstruction of the site, thanks also to the collaboration with the Region: "We are ready to restart in style and restore Punta Molentis to the splendor it deserves."
