Reports, alerts, and removal orders are the result of a large-scale operation across the capital conducted in the past few hours by the Carabinieri of the Operational and Radiomobile Unit of the Cagliari Company, supported by the military from the Cagliari Villanova, Stampace, and Sant'Avendrace stations.

A total of 92 people were identified: during the checks, the officers reported a 56-year-old man from Cagliari, who was located and arrested immediately after attempting to use stolen credit cards at a tobacco vending machine. A second charge of resisting arrest was filed against a 28-year-old man of Tunisian origin, resident in Capoterra ; during the identification procedure, the young man attempted to evade the check by pushing officers. Finally, a 25-year-old man of Algerian origin, resident in Selargius, found in possession of a switchblade and a work hose, was charged with possession of weapons or objects intended to cause harm.

Furthermore, the Carabinieri conducted a thorough search of the 28-year-old and 25-year-old , finding dozens of pills containing a painkiller used illegally as a narcotic. Both were immediately reported to the competent administrative authorities as drug users.
The operation particularly affected the "reinforced protection" areas of the capital, Piazza del Carmine and Piazza Matteotti : here the Carabinieri proceeded with the removal of nine foreign citizens, aged between 18 and 43 (originally from Senegal, Gambia, Guinea, Morocco, Egypt, Algeria and Somalia), who were camping out in clear violation of the Prefecture's ordinances.
