Detention order, by the Port Authority of Cagliari, for a ship flying the Panamanian flag and moored in the Port Channel.

The stop was triggered yesterday evening and after a careful and thorough inspection lasting almost 8 hours, during which "very serious deficiencies related to navigation safety" were found.

"The activities are carried out as part of the control over the conditions provided for by the International Conventions applicable to merchant ships engaged in international voyages, and are aimed at constantly checking the safety conditions of the merchant ships, the living and working conditions of the crews on board and the protection of the marine environment from pollution ”, specified by the Coast Guard.

In all, 14 non-conformities were found, of which 7 due to the ship being stopped.

At the disposal of the Harbor Master's Office, the ship will not be able to depart from the Port of Cagliari until the necessary safety conditions on board are re-established, and only after a new inspection.
