The signal of the relaunch of the Cantina di Quartu (based in Maracalagonis) came in 2019 with the return after many years to Vinitaly in Verona. But already in previous years, a few thousand quintals of excellent white and red grapes had been given to the reborn cellar. This year, almost 7 thousand quintals. This morning the end of the harvest was celebrated at Casa Olla in Quartu: a treasure trove of history and extraordinary beauty that welcomed producers, the leaders of the enopoly with the president Giuseppe Farci, the enologist Lucien Angey presented the first season's novel tasted by those present after the blessing of Don Gian Marco. In the words of the oenologist and the president there was no lack of that thread of emotion loaded with a thousand meanings with words addressed from the foundation of the Quartese winery, in 1926, to the present day in the hope that the future will give the people of the fields the necessary satisfactions to repay the their fatigue and their intelligence. Then the winemaker of the cellar made the first symbolic transfer of the new wine from a steel container to a barrique. Then the tasting, the folk and musical events that will continue in the evening.

The cellar is preparing to present other wines. In short, there is a desire to look to the future and to the market. In the best of times, the winery also amassed 200 thousand quintals of grapes before the great crisis of the seventies and eighties which even led to the sale of the old cellar in via Marconi in Quartu: in those years the detached seat of Maracalagonis was built where the reality continues to live after closing and resuming.

The president is Giuseppe Farci. Raffaele Corrias is his deputy. Directors, Raniero Saddi, Renato Sarritzu, Tommaso Sarritzu, Luca Pilleri and Onofrio Graviano. The day was organized by the association the Ant with the winery with the collaboration of the Pro Loco and the tourist associations of Quartesi.
