The mobilization against the Tyrrhenian link explodes again.
Hundreds of people, 500 according to the organizers, marched through the streets of Quartu against the Terna infrastructure that, through two underwater power lines, is to connect Sardinia, Sicily and Campania.
"We ask for the immediate suspension of the works, the Municipality of Quartu listen to us. These are colonialist methods", says the spokesperson of the Quartu No Tyrrhenian Link Committee.
After the clashes in Selargius against expropriations and the Su Padru garrison dismantled by the police and then reborn, the battle now moves to Flumini, the starting point of the infrastructure that Terna considers "strategic" to reach the energy transition objectives set by the National Integrated Plan for Energy and Climate (Pniec).
In a statement, the committee lashes out against the municipal administration, according to which "the Tyrrhenian Link must absolutely not be discussed for any reason in the spaces designated for democratic debate". We, the statement continues, "do not resign ourselves to all this and we will be increasingly stubborn in opposing all this: although we are in favor of an energy transition, we want to prevent this from turning into yet another scam to the detriment of our people and to the exclusive advantage of speculators. This demonstration against energy colonialism can represent a new beginning in this fight for a free and no longer subjugated Sardinia".
