The trial of five shepherds - who chose the ordinary rite - began today in Sassari in relation to the riots of February 2019 in the context of the protests against the price of milk. The accused must defend themselves from the accusations that indicate them among the protagonists of two episodes: the blockade of a hauler near Torralba, where the demonstrators had thrown all the goods on the ground and threatened the driver, and the assault on the Pinna di Thiesi dairy , when a hundred shepherds had forced entrepreneurs and employees to barricade themselves in the building, later causing damage to the factory, breaking down doors and windows, pouring milk on the ground. The premises had been flooded and the equipment tampered with.

The pastors are defended by lawyers Giulio Fais, Simona Pedde, Margherita Baragliu, Maria Assunta Argiolas, Maria Vittoria Pigliaru and will return to court on September 27, when 19 witnesses called by the prosecutor will be heard.

Today, in the same hearing, another breeder chose instead the probation, as had already done by 20 other defendants: for them the hearing to define the probation projects was set for July 19.
