Three shepherds accused of taking part in the riots over the price of milk - episodes of 2019 - were acquitted today by the Sassari court.

Franco Giuseppe Chessa, Mirko Mele and Leonardo Pedde, defended by the lawyers Giulio Fais, Margherita Baragliu and Simona Pedde, were on trial for the attack on a tanker transporting milk.

The contested crimes, in competition, were those of private violence and aggravated damage.

According to the accusation, on 9 February 2019, near Thiesi, the three had blocked a tanker of the Pinna dairy, forcing the haulier to empty the contents onto the road, around 15 thousand liters of scallops, i.e. residues from cheese processing.

During the courtroom hearing it emerged that the spilled product had no economic value and that the driver was not threatened.
