First the blockade in front of the factory gates. Then the symbolic occupation of the church of Santa Maria d'Itria in Portoscuso, with the parish priest Don Antonio Mura who welcomed the protesting workers in the pews of the house of the Lord. And finally a blitz in the Town Hall, with the "capture" of the council chamber.

Concern is growing among the workers of Portovesme Srl, who are facing a sad Christmas: the company has announced that on December 31st most of the contracts of the tenders will expire and this means the cancellation of at least two thirds of the indirect jobs, and we are talking about about 400 workers out of 600, with the risk of not even being able to start the redundancy fund.

As soon as the news spread yesterday, a two-hour strike-assembly was proclaimed by delegates from all categories of the procurement coordination.
