Exactly a century after their tragic assassination , Portoscuso does not want to forget the brothers Luigi and Salvatore Fois , socialists and boatmen, killed by the fascists on 29 December 1922 while working at the port of Portovesme .

This morning a ceremony took place at the port , where the two brothers were killed in cold blood, to name the pier after Salvatore and Luigi . Then a procession moved from the port to head towards the center of Portoscuso: a brief stop at the headquarters of the Spi CGIL, which was named after the Fois brothers, then the procession continued towards the church of Santa Maria d'Itria and here it held a commemoration .

Another appointment at the end of the morning in the municipal library : in the room, which will shortly be named after the Fois brothers, a conference was held on the historical period and on the events of Portoscuso in '29.

A bas-relief in honor of Salvatore and Luigi has been discovered ; furthermore, for the centenary of the massacre, Poste Italiane issued a special cancellation .

To organize the centenary initiatives, a committee was set up made up of the mayor Ignazio Atzori, the descendants of the Fois brothers, local and territorial associations. During the centenary year, other initiatives will be promoted to celebrate the memory of the massacre and of the two brothers barbarously killed.
