There are those who work to save animals put to the test by heat and drought and there are those who do their best for free, killing them mercilessly. The victim is a poor hedgehog killed in the parking area near the "Nino Pala" Maritime Station and not far from the Port Museum, in the heart of Porto Torres. An area of the center that has become no man's land where vandalism and even those of extreme incivility are not spared.

The hedgehog, a species protected by law as a state property, was violently killed with bolts until his head was torn off .

The weapon used is a rod used as a support for the panels that delimit the parking area , then abandoned in the same square.

The episode was denounced by Emanuela Fanari , a volunteer who invests time and energy every day in rescuing animals, especially cats. "I'm tired of seeing only suffering and indifference - she commented - in a place that seems forgotten and where people feel authorized to carry out certain acts of unacceptable cruelty".

Brutal behaviors, a ferocious obstinacy towards specimens that have had the only misfortune of being in that place, often victims of investments on the roads.

This time, however, it is not an accident, but an inhuman act.
