This morning, a sit-in protest took place at the Santa Cristina crossroads in Paulilatino, protesting the closure of access to the archaeological area from the SS 131 highway. This closure is adversely affecting the entire Paulilatino community.

Mayor Domenico Gallus, along with several administrators, has presented an ordinance urging Anas to immediately reopen the road and identify alternatives that will allow normal operations to resume.

Numerous residents were present, especially members of the Archeotur cooperative that manages the archaeological area, along with barraccelli, farmers, and restaurateurs. All of these businesses were affected by the closure of the crossroads.

In the video, Mayor Gallus summarizes the reasons for the protest and the content of the ordinance: reopening the crossroads to prevent further economic, social, and environmental damage to Paulilatino.
