Sardinia protagonist at the Palio of the ten municipalities, held in Montagnana, in the province of Padua. The prestigious race was won by the jockey from Fonni, Giovanni Puddu (30 years old), riding for the municipality of Urbana, with the horse "Demon" of the Federico Gugliemi stable, from Siena.
Also present in the race were other jockeys from the island, Gabriele Puligheddu from Oliena and Salvatore Nieddu from Burgos.
For Puddu, who has lived in Tuscany since 2016 but still deeply attached to his home country, a victory that is the result of months of hard training: «I am happy with this result – he explains – another step in my career. I dedicate the victory to my family, always there to support me. To my stable and to the Fonese community which, despite the distance, is always close to me ».
The mayor of Fonni, Daniela Falconi, is proud: «Seeing that one of our young people holds up the name of the town everywhere excites us. We are proud of Giovanni, certain that starting from this result he will be able to achieve further equally prestigious goals».
