“I called you Testoner. Hi my friend". Dozens of messages on his Facebook page, from friends and colleagues who had shared his great passion for mountain biking with him.
The last road traveled by Adriano Testone was fatal to him. He died on the state road 200, the path that connects Sassari to Sennori. Around 5 pm at kilometer 5, after the junction for Sorso, he collided head-on against a Renault Clio that invaded the lane. He was thrown over the hedge and died instantly.
A mountain bike professional who had achieved several titles, including that of regional champion in the specialty. He had been on the podium several times. Even recently he hadn't stopped training. And yesterday he was preparing to face another challenge, but fate decided another path for him.
A native of Landrigga, a hamlet of Sassari, where he had attended elementary school, many remember his smile. "A sweet and sunny person, I shared the primary school course with him - says Giuseppe Boccia, provincial president of Confesercenti - he was a great bike enthusiast, it was he who introduced me to mountain biking".
Adriano after his marriage to Barbara, 13 years ago, had moved to Sennori. Then the birth of a son. Other joys after racing. He was a laboratory analyst shift supervisor at Versalis, the Eni Group company in Porto Torres. On social media a friend writes: "Often life is unfair with people who least deserve it, and you didn't deserve it, you did what you loved and we will always remember you for the beautiful person you were".
