The Court of Appeal of Sassari has ordered that proceedings should not be held for the three people accused of epidemic and manslaughter in relation to the 14 deaths from Covid in Villa Gardenia in Ossi in 2020.

Today the decision of the panel chaired by Salvatore Marinaro, alongside Maria Grixoni and Marina Capitta, which in this way confirms the acquittal decided by the preliminary hearing judge Sergio De Luca last February. The accused were therefore acquitted, defended by the lawyers Liliana Pintus and Luigi Esposito, Franca Chessa, president of Coopas, which manages the retirement home, Giovanna Baralla, director of the facility, and Marco Sannino, head of the prevention and protection service.

According to the indictment, the three did not take the necessary actions to prevent the spread of the virus that spread between April and May three years ago . However, the charges were also dropped on appeal.
