The Carabinieri of the Orotelli station, with the contribution of their colleagues from the Squadrone Eliportato Cacciatori Sardegna and the Ris of Cagliari, arrested a 24-year-old and reported a 33-year-old accomplice for illicit possession of marijuana for the purpose of dealing.

The military found a plantation consisting of more than 1,000 high-THC marijuana plants and 650 kg of hemp already in the drying phase inside two different warehouses. The seized drug, if placed on the black market, would have brought in millions of euros.

"Today's result, like the previous ones that, recently, in the same geographical area, allowed to arrest another 2 people and seize tons of drugs - the Carabinieri announced - is part of the daily and long-term combing and monitoring services both of the countryside and of the inhabited centers, carried out by the Carabinieri from the territorial articulation, supported by the Hunters Squadron and by personnel in civilian clothes, specialized in camouflaging themselves not only in the Mediterranean scrub, but also in the inhabited centers where they carry out reconnaissance in impervious operational scenarios, also to search for those to be captured and illicit crops. Not to be underestimated is the specialized contribution of the Carabinieri of the RIS of Cagliari that allow to analyze in a short time the samples of drugs and detect their drug content".
