Oristano, visits suspended to San Martino: revolt in Oncology

Without additional services, even essential levels of care are at risk, let alone checks after treatment.

In the Oncology department of the San Martino hospital in Oristano, follow-up activities, those periodic visits for people who have been diagnosed with cancer, have been suspended and only those for patients in active therapy are guaranteed.

The three doctors left in the trenches (there were six until some time ago) who share the wards with as many hematologists are too few and are barely able to take care of the 450 patients in active therapy, those who are currently being treated.

And after the protests of some citizens, who showed up for the appointment booked long ago and were denied the check-up because there was no doctor available, the position of the Committee for the right to health also arrives.
