The one-year-old girl from Flumini di Quartu apparently died of pneumonia . This is the first result of the autopsy carried out this morning, and which lasted more than four hours, at Brotzu: the little girl had arrived at the Cagliari hospital on Thursday afternoon in desperate conditions and the medical staff had tried to revive her for 50 minutes, unfortunately in vain .

The Brotzu management had immediately requested a diagnostic check to clarify the causes of the little girl's death: according to an initial reconstruction, from what we learn, she had been ill for a few days and the parents - on Thursday - decided to take her to the hospital. During the journey, however, the situation worsened: the little girl's conditions worsened and the parents called 118. An ambulance reached the family in viale Poetto for emergency transport to Brotzu.

This morning the diagnostic assessment was carried out by Dr. Paola Bianco of Pathological Anatomy and by the forensic doctor Roberto Demontis. The causes of death could be attributable to pneumonia. Histological tests have also been ordered to definitively clarify what caused the death of the little girl, in a tragedy that has shocked all of Sardinia.
