Busy afternoon at the ''Costa Smeralda'' in Olbia due to a bomb threat which affected a plane of the German company Eurowings arriving from Cologne, with 130 passengers on board.

The carrier reported having received an anonymous email announcing the presence of an explosive device on the aircraft which landed at 12.25pm and which was due to leave approximately 40 minutes later. The airport's emergency procedures were immediately triggered, the aircraft was directed to a remote stand and the travelers were disembarked there.

All the baggage was unloaded and checked from the hold while the Border Police dog units supported by the Carabinieri Bomb Squad went into action on board. Fortunately, the inspections gave negative results. No trace of explosives.

Compared to the accident that occurred with the Enav P-180, which forced Civilavia to close the airport, this time take-offs and landings took place regularly and there were no consequences even for General Aviation. The only repercussions were those suffered by the carrier which delayed the take-off of the Airbus 320 bound for Cologne by more than six hours. Eurowings preferred to send another plane from Germany.
