The folk group Civitas Mariana from Luogosanto was in for a nasty surprise after participating in the procession in honor of San Simplicio, which took place yesterday in Olbia.

Two young dancers were robbed of the traditional costumes they wore to accompany the patron saint of Olbia and Gallura. After parading, the girls packed their dresses in suitcases and put them in their car parked in Piazzale Francesco De Rosa, ready to continue the evening with the group.

On the way back, the surprise: damaged car, stolen suitcases and with them the precious clothes and jewels (family) worn as accessories, of great historical value.

"We are deeply saddened because the stolen objects represent Luogosanto's identity and were created with great sacrifice," said one of the group's founders, Rosaria Azara, asking for support in the search for the stolen items.
