A 9-year-old girl tested positive for cocaine during toxicology tests at the emergency room of the hospital in Olbia, where she arrived by 118 ambulance after her mother called for help.

The facts date back to two months ago and apparently occurred in a small town in Gallura: perhaps the little girl found some unattended white powder in the house and touched it or perhaps the drug somehow came into contact with the food.

The child did not appear to be in serious condition. The child's mother, who also tested positive for drugs, and her partner were reported. Investigators are now trying to understand what really happened in the house, but the entire investigation is under strict confidentiality to protect the minor.
