Widowed at a very young age, Clelia Guelpa was a nanny for dozens of children , serving many families in Tortolì . Today the woman turned 100. The coveted milestone was celebrated with relatives and close friends . The mayor of Tortolì, Marcello Ladu, also visited her and gave her a plaque of good wishes on behalf of the entire citizenry.
Mrs. Clelia was born in Tortolì to a family of entrepreneurs from Biella who had come to Ogliastra to work on the development of the port of Arbatax. Her mother, Monserrata Todde, was also originally from Tortolì. Clelia Guelpa got married here, becoming a widow early on. Since that event, which marked her life, she has always worn black clothes. For work she has raised many children, following them also in the subsequent stages of growth.
