A year after the death of the director of the Nuoro prison, Patrizia Incollu, and her assistant chief Peppino Fois , in a tragic road accident on the state road 389 Nuoro-Lanusei, the National Penitentiary Police Administration (ANPPE) commemorated the two victims in the Badu 'e Carros prison in Nuoro.
A moment attended by the civil, military and religious authorities of the territory: the prosecutor of the Barbagia capital Patrizia Castaldini, the prefect Alessandra Nigro, the heads of the police force, the relatives of the victims and their colleagues. After the mass celebrated by the vicar of the bishop of Nuoro, Don Giuseppe Mattana with the prison chaplain Don Roberto Solinas, the national secretary of the ANPPE Donato Capece and the regional administrator of the penitentiary administration, Antonio Galati, unveiled the marble plaque in memory of the two victims.
"It was a moving moment in which we remembered the two colleagues who passed away prematurely in the line of duty," Capece said, "Patrizia Incollu and Peppino Fois had made their service a mission and today we saw this firsthand when we met staff who were fond of the two victims who suffered a great void due to their premature passing and who will always remember them."
"I knew Patrizia and I learned to know Peppino from the stories of colleagues and family members," added Galati, "they were the example of those who dedicated themselves to their work with dedication and joy, despite the sacrifices and efforts made beyond the ordinary. They put passion into what they did. They protected the people entrusted to them, keeping firm the objective of penal execution and ensuring social security and respect for the rules."
