A task force in the Nuoro area will be responsible for mapping all the abandoned and dangerous buildings and then deciding what to do, to avoid the repetition of tragedies like the recent one in Nuoro , where two very young people died in the collapse of an attic in an old building.

The announcement was made this morning at the end of a meeting in the prefecture , in the presence of mayors, civil engineering representatives, firefighters and other categories.

The working group will be made up of personnel from the municipal technical offices, the Fire Brigade, the Order of Engineers and the Civil Engineering Service.

The prefect Giancarlo Dionisi , immediately after the tragic death of Patrick Zola and Ythan Romano, had sent a circular to the mayors inviting them to carry out an initial reconnaissance to identify the most dangerous ruins .

This is a problem that risks becoming a real emergency. In fact, according to a recent report, there are over 300 thousand empty houses and buildings on the island, many in a state of abandonment.
