No community service for Roberta Barabino; she's sent to prison.

The Sassari Surveillance Court has rejected the request for custody to Social Services filed by Roberta Barabino's lawyers. The woman, from Oliena, sentenced to just under four years in prison for embezzlement (she is a former support administrator), was found responsible for hundreds of incidents of financial embezzlement from those she supported.
Lawyers Antonio Secci and Gianluca Sannio appealed to the Surveillance Court, highlighting the family circumstances of Barabino, a mother of three. The lawyers expressed surprise at the decision, which also ruled out house arrest for the woman. Criminal lawyers Antonio Secci and Gianluca Sannio have the option of appealing the Sassari Surveillance Court's order to the Supreme Court.
