Under fire for the construction of bike paths (or lanes) throughout Cagliari, the Massimo Zedda municipal administration is now in the crosshairs of cyclists because, it seems, "they've gone where not even Truzzu could go." In other words, this municipality would do worse than the one governed by the center-right.

It seems paradoxical, but the controversy was sparked by the city's leader of FIAB (Italian Federation for the Environment and Cycling), Virgilio Scanu , who, he says, "politically supported Zedda because the previous government didn't have cycling mobility in its DNA." But those currently in Palazzo Bacaredda have demonstrated "a total inability, with a lack of vision for the mobility system, to manage and analyze the mobility sector due to a lack of listening and discussion among the stakeholders, associations, and stakeholders."

Cyclists' anger is sparked by the project to resurface Viale Sant'Avendrace, announced by the mayor in recent days . The big flaw? There would be no dedicated spaces for bikes. No bike lanes, in short.

"You have succeeded in destroying a historic project for the continuity of the city's cycling ring," is Scanu's serious accusation.
