The guarantee interrogation of Antonio Luigi Fiori is expected for tomorrow morning , the 48-year-old homeless man suspected of murdering and concealing the body of Nicola Pasquarelli , the 78-year-old man who was beaten to death two weeks ago and whose charred body was found last Saturday in a wood in via Piandanna in Sassari .

The hearing for Fiori, defended by lawyers Elisabetta Udassi and Roberto Risi, will be held before the investigating judge Gian Paolo Piana in the Bancali prison .

In the first confrontation, Saturday night, with the investigators and the prosecutor Lara Senatore, the man, despite his lawyers having advised him against speaking, nevertheless answered the questions, rejecting all accusations but in the interview he would often contradict himself. Hence the arrest for murder and concealment of a body as well as theft: after the crime, Fiori allegedly entered the victim's home to steal money and some ATM cards. THE RECONSTRUCTION - According to the reconstruction of the mobile squad of the Sassari police headquarters, directed by Dario Mongiovì, the elderly man was fatally shot with a stick in the nape and neck, then thrown into a hollow in the ground in front of the Botanical Garden in Piandanna . Here it was set on fire with gasoline and left to burn for several days. A prolonged treatment that consumed the body to bone.

The motive of the crime would be jealousy which resulted, at the height of a violent quarrel, in the brutal assault on the victim. The two men had been seeing each other often in recent times and, together with them, there was also a twenty-year-old woman considered by Fiori to be a sort of girlfriend .

Even Pasquarelli would have paid attention to the young woman, which perhaps the alleged murderer did not tolerate.
