Monserrato, work finished a year ago but the 554 junction remains closed: "Documents never received"

The junction that from the 554 will allow you to enter Monserrato again, from via XXI Aprile 1991, is still closed despite the fact that the works – which began in June two years ago – were completed a good year ago. The bureaucracy has once again got in the way, as is usual in Italy. The Municipality has never stopped interacting with Anas, the body that manages the road, and the discussions have never stopped. And yet, everything is ready to reopen the road, at least in terms of infrastructure.

The object of the dispute is a technical-administrative documentation required by current legislation and necessary for the reopening to traffic. In January, the Municipality announced that it had sent the requested documents to Anas, but Anas today told L'Unione Sarda that it had not yet received anything .

Meanwhile, discontent is growing among the inhabitants of Monserrato, who need the reopening of the junction like bread. And the few commercial activities in the area still standing are suffering , penalized by a closure that has lasted for over ten years.
