The mistral wind is causing damage throughout Sardinia, with gusts expected to reach speeds of around 100 kilometers per hour.
Numerous calls for help reached the Cagliari fire department's switchboard. At least twenty interventions were scheduled for this afternoon.
The wind uprooted the photovoltaic panels on the roof of the Meucci building in Pirri. There were also fallen trees, unsafe power lines, a billboard on the ground next to the Terramaini municipal swimming pool , and a fallen light pole on Via San Lucifero, which was secured.
Among the various interventions was a fire in Quartu, which took priority over the rest, but which fortunately turned out to be minor without major consequences.
