Macomer, waiting for the meeting at the ASL to start the doubling of the RSA

The expansion of the Nuraghe Ruggiu structure, the only Rsa in the province of Nuoro, is worth 20 more beds, compared to the current 40. Sereni Orizzonti, the company that manages the structure, requests a meeting with the local health authority to start the works immediately, and therefore the expansion project.

"There are many requests we receive to start the expansion", writes in a document the company, which built and manages under concession the 40 current beds in the only residence for the elderly in the province of Nuoro. In the document the company adds: «The need for new beds is strong and the concession awarded in 2014 allows the expansion of 20 new beds».

The building authorization has already been granted with a reasoned decision following the conclusion of the services conference and with a single provision dated July last year. «We are waiting for a meeting at the local health authority to start construction - says the administrator of the Sereni Orizzonti group, Gabriele Meluzzi - the project, already approved, includes new beds. The work could be completed in no more than 24 months." The project involves the construction of a new 20-bed nucleus on the second floor of the residence, already operational, with double and single rooms, living rooms and dining rooms for the socialization of guests. The floor will be connected to the rest of the existing structure with the staircase, the lift for disabled people and stretcher lifts.

"The intention - it is still written in the document - is to accommodate the numerous requests for assistance and care arriving from the area, with important employment implications for professional figures such as doctors, nurses and social-health workers". Sereni Orizzonti, in addition to managing the Rsa in Macomer, also manages two other residences in Sardinia, that of "Gli Ulivi", in Silanus, and the Rsa "Matida" in Sassari. Sereni Orizzonti is above all an important reality in the province of Nuoro. It is one of the first groups at a national level that operates in the construction and management of healthcare residences, with around 80 RSAs and more than 5 thousand beds in Italy and also abroad.
