Conscientious objectors out of Sardinian hospitals, yes to the establishment of functional areas dedicated to voluntary termination of pregnancy.

This is the objective of the proposed law, first signatory Gianluca Mandas of the M5s, filed today in the Regional Council. The declared aim is to address "finally one of the most serious hypocrisies of our health system: the right to abortion, guaranteed on paper, but often denied in practice. Our proposal is clear: all public hospitals will have to establish, where they are not already present, functional areas dedicated to IVG".

In the competitions, health companies "will have to hire non-objecting personnel for these departments, with a forfeiture clause in the event of subsequent conscientious objection. We can no longer tolerate that so many women are still denied the possibility of choosing in serenity, safety and respect . This is not just a health issue. It is first and foremost a right to be guaranteed: the right to be listened to, treated, accompanied. Without ideological obstacles. Without hypocrisy".

The Five Star Movement representative considers his proposal to be "concrete, feasible, respectful of law 194 and the Constitution. We owe it to all Sardinian women. We owe it to their health, their freedom, their dignity."
