"A cowardly act that doesn't belong in Quartucciu." Mayor Pietro Pisu and local police councilor Cristian Mereu issued a clear condemnation after the arson attack that destroyed three police cars.

Pisu, who has been in contact with law enforcement since last night, reassures residents: "This act affects the entire community: security will not be compromised by acts of intimidation. Those responsible—and I speak in the plural—will not be able to undermine mutual trust and the serenity of our daily lives. Together, we will react with determination and responsibility."

Councilor Mereu agreed, describing it as "a very serious act against the administration and the Municipal Police Force, which has been engaged in intense territorial control and monitoring, especially in recent months."

Thanking the Carabinieri and firefighters for their prompt response, he urged residents to "resume together, because Quartucciu doesn't deserve hostile and cowardly actions. When institutions are attacked, we all lose."

Meanwhile, the investigation into the raid continues: footage shows a man who, around 11:30 PM, after climbing over the fence on Via Monte Spada—where the local police headquarters is located, pending its relocation to Via Nazionale—set fire to three police vehicles. The man then fled into the narrow streets leading to the historic center and toward Selargius, before the arrival of the Carabinieri from Selargius and Monserrato.

"We firmly condemn the act of intimidation that targeted the Quartucciu Local Police last night: a very serious act that undermines security and respect for institutions," said Francesco Spanedda, Councilor for Local Government and Urban Planning, who expressed his full solidarity with the municipal police officers and their families. "Their daily service," continued Todde, "is essential to ensuring order and community protection."
