Landings at Porto Pino, over thirty migrants arrived in one day.

Continuous landings on the coasts of southern Sardinia. For years now, it has become a destination for migrants arriving from North Africa, primarily Algeria, but also, in some cases, Tunisia.

Three landings occurred this afternoon: one on Porto Pino beach in Sant'Anna Arresi. The group of 13 people, including two women and a child, was intercepted after disembarking by medical personnel at the emergency station located between the first and second beaches.

Subsequently, another group of 10 people arrived directly into the canal, ending their journey on the marina slipway. Several swimmers were on site to witness the scene and call the police, who were already in the area following the previous disembarkation. Later that evening, another group of eight young people in a fiberglass boat landed in Santa Margherita di Pula.

Meanwhile, many people from Algeria are reportedly waiting to board these small boats for the approximately 130-mile crossing from the port of Annaba, one of the main departure points. The journey takes 11 hours or more, depending on weather and sea conditions.
