Antonia Fulghesu, the grandmother of Laconi and one of the oldest women in Sardinia, died at the age of 107.

Regional Councilor Giuseppe Frau announced the news on his social media page, recalling: "During my many years as a doctor in Laconi, alongside Dr. Sebastiana Floris, Mrs. Antonia became a point of reference, an example not only for her longevity, but because every day she expressed that strength of character and spontaneous empathy that only Sardinian women can convey.

It was always pleasant, during my home visits to her, to listen to her tell the story of a very long life of joys and sorrows, but always with the grit and tenacity to have overcome difficulties and look to the future.

Her wise advice and her thoughts always turned towards her dear sons and daughters, her beloved grandchildren, the new generations, and the entire community. I want to remember her like this, with great affection," Frau concludes.
