From the beautiful island of Spargi to that of Lavezzi, in Corsica, near the ruins of an ancient monastery; from the island of Santa Maria, ancient site of another Benedictine monastery, to the renowned island of Budelli, known throughout the world for the Pink Beach, to end, the last stage of the series, in Santo Stefano, where there are those who believe suffered martyrdom, Pope Pontian. These are the islands of summer pilgrimages to the "Cathedrals of Creation", organized by the parish of Santa Maria Maddalena, in continuation of a tradition now over twenty years old started by the previous parish priest, Don Domenico Degortes, and continued by the current one, Don Andrea Domanski.
The pilgrimages will take place on July 12th in Spargi, on July 25th or 29th in Lavezzi, on August 15th on the island of Santa Maria, on August 29th in Budelli and the last one, on September 12th, in Santo Stefano. The pilgrimages, in these "Cathedrals of Creation", will start from the church of Santa Maria Maddalena for boarding a shuttle rented for this purpose, and will allow participants to enjoy an intense day at the seaside, between leisure and spirituality.
Accompanied by a priest, Mass will be celebrated on each island, either in existing chapels or in the ruins of ancient monasteries or near crosses raised in the past. «The pilgrimage highlights our human condition, on the way towards Someone who accompanies us on this path, leaving many signs of His presence», underlines the parish priest, Don Andrea Domanski.
