The squatters of the sea end up in the Coast Guard network.

Yesterday alone, Friday 12 August, 46 penalties were imposed by the harbor master of La Maddalena, for a total value of over 50 thousand euros , to boats that went around the islands for a fee but were not entitled to them because they were private.

The objective of the controls is to combat the phenomenon of the abusive use of boats and pleasure boats, illegally employed in commercial activities for the transport of tourists along the coast of the archipelago.

Multiple offenses detected by the Coast Guard soldiers during the maritime police operation: from the exceeding of the maximum number of transportable passengers to the lack of the essential safety equipment to keep on board, from the absence of permits issued by the National Park Authority in order to operate in the La Maddalena Archipelago in the event of failure to provide prior communications, relating to the so-called occasional rental, to be sent to the Harbor Master's Office.

Since the beginning of the summer season, a total of 120 administrative penalties have been contested for an amount exceeding 120 thousand euros .
