For years, blogs, committees (starting with An archipelago without plastic) and citizens have reported the presence, particularly on the island of Maddalena , of abandoned boats and wrecks, both on the beaches and in the coves and along the cliffs . One thing that, moreover, is not very suitable for a National Park. And for years the municipal authorities have been urged to intervene.

Since yesterday, the municipal councilor for the environment, Federica Porcu, announces the recovery has begun. "Once these 80 abandoned boats have been recovered, the company in charge will proceed with the disassembly of the various components, dividing the materials by type and disposing of them at the centers authorized to receive them".

In 2020 municipal administrators and officials carried out various inspections, as well as the Harbor Master's Office, and reports were received by the Municipality of the Forestry itself, by the Forestry Carabinieri and other bodies. In December of last year, the Regional Department of the Environment, through the involvement of the councilor Gianni Lampis, was allocated 300,000 euros to La Maddalena on the basis of the presentation of a municipal project accompanied by the cards prepared by the Port Authority. Operations began yesterday.
