Tragedy this morning on the Graneri beach in La Caletta di Siniscola . An 81-year-old man lost his life while swimming a short distance from the shore of the very popular beach in the Siniscole area. The drama unfolded before the eyes of hundreds of swimmers.

Noticed lifeless in the waves, the eighty-one year old was rescued immediately .

However, every attempt to resuscitate him proved futile and in the end the 118 doctor who intervened on the scene was unable to do anything but confirm his death.

An illness was probably fatal to him.

The Carabinieri of the Siniscola company also intervened.
