The new IT-alert test on the Sardinian territory has been scheduled for January 24th, Wednesday. The national public alarm system will send a message to warn of a major accident in an industrial plant subject to the Seveso directive, i.e. the one which concerns fires involving dangerous substances.

In particular, between 12 and 1 pm, mobile phones located within a 2 kilometer radius of the Fiamma 2000 Spa factory in the Serramanna area will ring.

All devices connected to mobile telephone cells in the area will ring at the same time, emitting a distinctive sound different from that of other notifications, and will display a message containing the following text: “TEST TEST This is an IT-alert TEST MESSAGE. We are SIMULATING an industrial accident in the area you are in. To find out what message you will receive in the event of real danger due to an industrial accident, go to www.it-alert.gov.it TEST TEST”.

As with the previous tests, on the IT-alert website it will then be possible to fill out a questionnaire in order to implement the system. Anyone who, despite being in the affected area, does not receive the notification can report non-receipt.
