An injured speleologist was the subject of a rescue this afternoon in the S'Edera cave, in the territory of Urzulei .

Following the alarm received by the 118 operations center from a comrade who, after the accident, came out of the cavity to ask for help, the technicians of the National Alpine and Speleological Rescue Corps, VIII speleological delegation, were sent to the place.

The group of speleologists, consisting of 6 people, was in the cave when - beyond the Well of the Great Muffler, more than 500 meters from the entrance and about 180 meters deep, one of them fell and reported a suspected fracture to a leg .

The team of the Ogliastra Alpine Station has set up the base camp to support the first speleological rescue team who, together with a doctor from the CNSAS, is busy reaching the injured person.

The unblocking technicians were also alerted because, due to the characteristics of the cavity, it might be necessary to intervene to widen some sections to allow the passage of the stretcher.
