The community of Stintino celebrates Sant'Isidoro, the patron saint of harvests and farmers, in the evocative setting of the small church of Ercoli, near Pozzo San Nicola. The first important event will take place tomorrow, Sunday 21 April at 11.30 am, in the churchyard of Ercoli. After the mass officiated by the parish priest, the faithful will have the privilege of participating in the traditional rite of blessing the fields, a moment of spirituality and request for prosperity for the lands.

The culmination of the celebrations will take place on Sunday 5 May, again at 11.30 am, with the mass dedicated to Sant'Isidoro. At the end of the liturgy, the procession of the saint's simulacrum will take place through the streets adjacent to the church, a moment of faith and tradition which will see the participation of the whole community.

«With great joy we are about to celebrate two important traditions of our community: the Blessing of the Fields and the Feast of Sant'Isidoro, our patron saint of crops and farmers – comments the mayor Rita Vallebella -. These events are not only a time of prayer and devotion, but also an opportunity to strengthen bonds within our community and with the land that nourishes us. A ritual that has its roots in our history and our traditions. They will be moments of reflection on the importance of nature and our role in protecting and enhancing it."
